About this work

The Candy Girls are among Richard’s most iconic bodies of work. First introduced in 2003 with the Green Yacht piece, the series has since evolved into a signature style defined by bold, multi-coloured vertical stripes. Richard has developed a collection of twelve distinct female figures within the series, each with its own character and presence. Among them, Ana, depicted with her arms crossed, has become the most recognisable and sought-after.
